A Few Years in Review: Why It Still Matters

We didn’t show up as experts. We showed up with curiosity and creativity, and that was enough to begin with.

RITUALS & RECAPS

Ever tried to stay creative without burning out? If you’ve built something from scratch or wandered through pop-ups, this might feel familiar. It’s not just a recap. It’s what kept us going. Read on for a mossy trail of lessons, accidents, and tiny victories that shaped our story.

1. The Accidental Origin Story

What started as a heat source compatibility issue turned into a full-blown terrarium experiment. A few mismatched household items led us to nature dioramas, and from there, the brand began to sprout. It wasn’t planned, but it felt real.

2. The First Local Con Spark

A shared table at a local convention gave us just enough space, and just enough courage to showcase our terrariums. We didn’t show up as experts. We showed up with curiosity and creativity, and that was enough to begin with.

3. The Pop-Up Momentum

In our first year, we joined four local cons. One more the next year, then the pandemic hit. We paused, but didn’t quit. Three years later, we returned. Two more events followed, each one a reminder that showing up matters even if you’re not a regular.

4. The Cancelled Comeback

Our most recent return was cancelled due to venue policy issues. It stung, but it also reminded us that not every setback is a stop sign. Sometimes, it’s just a redirection. We’re still here, still dreaming, still building.

5. The Soft Launch Blog Era

We’ve posted a few blog entries already, but they didn’t quite hit the mark. Maybe we tried too hard. Maybe it was just a soft launch. This time, we’re shifting gears. We want to be more conversational, more real, and more resonant with you.

Looking Ahead: A Mossy Manifesto

Out of nothing. Out of curiosity. Out of love for what we do. We’re not giving up. Our physical forms may be in hibernation, but our creative spirit is wide awake. Moving forward, expect slower but deeper growth. Expect more thoughtful content, small creative updates, and clearer storytelling. Watch the recap video, if you haven’t yet. It carries the echo of what’s grown.

Start something, even if it’s imperfect. Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep it mossy. Ready to join the mossfeed?
