It is Wednesday again. We are sending out a mossy signal from the edge of the swamp. People might think the wild parts of the world sleep forever but they do not. There is a quiet kind of joy in coming back home. We are not returning with loud music or bright lights. We are returning with moss. Beneath the long silence something very old and very feral is starting to grow. It moves slowly and it moves with care. It covers the things we left behind with new green life.
A long time ago we planted a garden. It was 2018 and we filled it with glass terrariums and a collection of miniature creatures. We kept a stash of art prints and stickers made from misprints and leftovers. We laughed at the quiet chaos of it all. Then things went still for a while. But gardens do not really stop growing just because humans stop looking at them. They grow underground where it is dark and safe.
In 2023 we started digging again. We replanted those old ideas with deeper roots and a better sense of wonder. This is not a grand reopening of a store. This is a rewilding of a spirit. We are letting the weeds grow where they want to. We are letting the water find its own path. We are glad to be back in the mud.
The green places are calling us back
